My New Gallery Wall

I have issues with making holes in our walls around the house.  I don’t know why, but I just hate doing it – maybe because I spent hours upon hours painting the house when we moved in?  I’m not sure.  Perhaps I’m hole-o-phobic.  But the walls around our house are pretty bare bones because of it.  I finally decided to hang some things up on the wall that leads down into our basement.  I’ve had some really great pictures of the kids framed and ready to go for an eternity, but we just hadn’t put them up yet.
Originally, I was just going to hang the pictures up of the kids and that was going to be it.  Less holes that way, right?  But, I felt like I wanted more because the wall is large.  So, I started collecting a few things.  I found these really neat architectural type arch things at a local flea market and thought they would look neat hanging up.  And I found some other things here and there that I liked.  A sign from Target, some little mirrors at Hobby Lobby, etc.  And I really wanted to make a big “H” out of some corrugated tin we had left over from the playroom ceiling.

So, I drew the “H” out on the tin, and my husband cut it out for me and attached some pieces to the back of it so we could hang it up.  I feel fortunate that “H” is an easy letter to cut out – no curves!  Haha!

My husband hung everything up for me, because most of it was really hard to reach from the stairs – we had to use a ladder and a wood plank to reach quite a few things.

I really like how it turned out!  There are still a few holes that I need to fill in with some smaller things.  I didn’t want to wait until I found them though – who knows how long that could take!  I’m hoping to get back to the flea market and find some small treasures.

And I’m planning a family related chalk art piece to go into the empty frame.  The frame was from my Grandma, and I think it looks pretty nice hanging up even with nothing inside.

It looks great! I've had the layout for my gallery wall laying on the floor for 2 weeks because I'm too chicken to give in and just do it!

Thanks for the inspiration to finally get it done!

Great gallery wall. I am in the process of gathering stuff to make one in my home! Stopping by from Hawthorne and Main.

This looks great! I love gallery walls. I am the same with holes. I have recently started using the 3M Command Velcro strips! They are wonderful! Have you tried them? If not give them a shot!
